If things are going well enough for you to consider a second date, but you are not absolutely certain that the relationship can survive it, do not, I repeat, DO NOT talk about politics.
…as a side note, it occurs to me that I should probably confess here that thus far I find that I am unable to take my own good advice when it comes to dating. Learn from my mistakes. Someone should.

The guy I went out with last night OPENED the evening by saying that he liked to bash George Bush, because he voted for him but now thinks everything he’s done is horrible. So he pretty much ensured that I would be alerted/offended (not that I’m easily offended, but you know what I mean) no matter which side I happened to be on. Yeah. Not a good opening line. No idea where he thought that would take us.
