In addition to this lovely little sample, there are other things out there on the internets that I’m very proud to have written. Some of it is quirky, some inflammatory, and some is just plain geeky.
If you happen to be a publisher looking for an opinionated former-teacher-turned-web2.0-geek to write your next best seller, I know just the girl.
wiseGEEK: This site is my bread and butter. I do lots of things other than write for it, but here’s a sample:
What is some Dating Advice for Geeks?
What are some Real Estate Terms I should Watch Out For?
How can I Make the Most of an All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet?
Inside Teaching: This was an anonymous blog/rant that I penned while teaching. It’s pretty political and opinionated, but when I go back and read it, I’m not embarrassed by it. That says a lot, I think.
Unique Reviews: My first paid writing gig and the most fun I ever had writing. I wrote nearly all the content on this site, but my favorites are:
Dr. Pepper Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers
Tutoring San Diego: The gift of some generous friends, this little business kept me flush for the first year of grad school. Now, it’s for sale. Anyone want to buy a tutoring business in San Diego? Here’s your chance!
Tutoring FAQ: Companion site for Tutoring San Diego. Not very interesting, but if you’re looking to hire me as a freelance writer, it’s a good sample of solid, built-for-the-internet content.
Naturally, there are other sites, but they’re still Top Secret.

I don’t know how I came to find your blog, but I’m so glad I did. I have a 4 month old baby and I have to tell you that reading some of your writings to her cracked her up, although I don’t really know if it was your thoughts on purple food or just some gas… Anyway, it was nice to find you living such a nice life, you sound very happy and in love. As a once upon a time copywriter, it is a nice reminder how fun it can be to just let your thoughts rule a page. Keep up your blog, it’s a nice diversion between diapers at the moment!
